Classical Indian Music Coming Up

Hear the bewitching voice of Deepti Navaratna on Monday, Nov. 4 at 7pm at the main library. She will perform traditional sounds of South India for The Dr. Richard M. Shiff Forum presents: Deepti Navaratna.

Recognized for her ‘particularly lovely and bewitching voice’ (The Boston Globe, 2010), Deepti Navaratna’s music embodies a rare mix of classical wisdom, expressivity and virtuosity. Her long-standing immersion and training in South Indian Classical music informs a musical persona that is deeply rooted in the South Indian classical idiom. From South Indian classical repertoire to avant garde contemporary compositions, she displays a unique versatility that is distinctly her own.
